Natures Sleep Slippers Review and giveaway

I was given a super soft slipper to review and giveaway. I have to admit they are so soft they are almost luxurious. My foot feels like it is encased in comfort. The slippers have a thick sole which makes it feel like your feet are walking on pillows. Once your feet hit the floor in the morning you now have no reason to not get out of bed. Did you know that bare feet on floors are very hard on your foot? I've noticed that my feet feel better when I wear my slippers. I have heel problems and these slippers have made it much easier to walk in the mornings. I really do like the pair I was given. I have a pink closed toe pair and they are now my favorite slipper. #Blissdom and balance

I went to a blogging conference this weekend. What I learned was that I am tired. I am tired of working all day on my blog to the exclusion of my children. I'm tired of focusing on the wrong priorities in my life. So I have a new resolve. It's going well today too.

My new resolve is this. I will not blog, fix code, or do anything to my blog after my kids get home. Unless they're in bed. :) I can get all my blogging done while the kids are in school and then I am there for them. I want to be present in my life and I'm not present if I'm focused on the black box (puter).

I will work out and have breakfast in the morning before I get on the computer. Day one so far is a success. Yay me! At the conference someone said why am I paying someone to watch my kids while I do the grunt work (grocery store, cleaning, errands). I want to pay someone to do my errands so I can be with my kids. That's what I want. OK, I didn't say it would actually happen because who has the money for that! But, it's a goal.

Let's continue this success and then next month maybe I can conquer my diet! Let's do this day 2.

I would just like to thank Autism United for the nice dinner and night out at the Opry during the conference. It was quite a star filled fun night.

Traditions and Easter gifts from the bunny

The Easter egg hunt is on!

Thinking ahead here for the first time in a long time. Do you do Easter gifts for your children? Do you put them in their basket or do you leave it out of them. I usually get small toys and candy to put in their basket. They do not think there is some magical bunny that leaves them baskets. I try to get the toys and candy on sale as well. It's hard to fund the Easter bunny some times.

Yes, I am a Christian and I do give Easter Baskets. It's a tradition my family enjoys and because I enjoyed it so much as a child I am doing it with my children too. Aren't traditions wonderful things? I love making cookies at Christmas with my kids. We also make a big cake for Easter and they love that too. Traditions are what you make them into with your family. Traditions mean so much to children. It's a way for them to look forward and know what is coming and anticipate it.

Easter Gift Baskets are a wonderful way to celebrate Easter with your children. We have an Easter egg hunt and a big family dinner. Traditions are something to be anticipated by you and your children. It adds meaning to the mundane things of day to day life. I had the lovely opportunity to review this book for this tour. I have to say it's like nothing any book I've ever read before. It was sweet, romantic, heartwrenching, but yet exciting book. I have to say that Sarah writes about strong characters going through trials and tribulations and somehow managing to find love...even on the other side. Are payday loans right for you?

Payday loans are being used frequently as a way to keep families afloat. Is this a good way for a struggling family to make it until the next pay period? Each family has to decide this on their own. It is my opinion that it is always best to pay cash, if you can.

I know for many families who struggle they can not always do this and need to stretch their budget until the next payday. If you need it to feed your family then please let those babies eat. Just be aware that the loans you get from the payday places tend to have very high interest rates and could possibly make it harder for you to pay it off. If you use it only as an emergency, only happens once in a while type thing, and it gets you by then please do.

Try to not make it a habit of using payday loans to pull yourself out of the hole. It does tend to make getting out of debt harder. Pay cash and live within your means if you can. Be frugal, live simply, teach honesty and honor integrity. That's always the smartest way to live and to handle your money.

Making the best of an antique table

I love finding things and refurbishing them to look new and interesting. They make some really awesome weekend projects and pieces of furniture that I treasure that much more than things that I just bought and didn't do anything to to personalize it.

I was online trying to get a few Remodeling ideas for my home. I want to take that DIY aesthetic to the rest of my home, but I'm not a professional remodeler. So, I think that I'm going to hire someone to handle my kitchen. I'm not quite up to that task.

I got the idea that I had a place for the perfect refurbished side table and tracked down some great tutorials on how to fix up some wooden tables. I'm a little less experienced with stuff like that and have barely even sanded wood before. So, I'm definitely having to seek outside help for this before I paint this in the design that I'd like. I'm thinking a chevron design for the table top and have a few different shades in mind for it!

My 26 year old house needs a lot of work!

In the last few years we have been working hard on updating my house. I love most everything about it. But updating it sure does make me love it more. This past week we were focusing on the cabinets. After 26 years of being used they had lots of scratches on them. They were driving me crazy. We went to a big name home supply store and looked around. The salesperson made it sound like the only thing we could do was resurface, paint, or replace.

I found it hard to believe that those were our only choices. So, we went to the stain aisle. Found this product:

My dh gave our cabinets a good cleaning. Then we wiped this product on, rubbed it in, and wiped it off. My cabinets look as good as new. I'm a happy home owner! So relieved to only spend $12 instead of who knows how much to replace those cabinets. Now we are looking at granite for our countertops and getting new sinks and faucets.

Once you've lived in a home for a long time things start to bug you. We've slowly fixed many things. We have put on siding so we don't have to paint. Put down laminate hard wood floors (large dog who would ruin hard wood), painted the entire bottom floor of the house. We are loving our home again. I can't wait to get new countertops and sinks. But that will take a while as we are saving up to pay cash. No credit used here...no sir! Enjoy your home. You will be there for so long and it takes so little to make it more livable for you. My pool story!

We put a pool in at my house when I was a senior in high school. I so wished I had it earlier. My mom had it installed in November so that it was ready for the next summer. The reasoning behind that is that pools and pool supplies are less expensive when you have it done at an off time of the year. Off season is the best time to buy most things.

That next summer I loved diving into my crystal clear pool when I woke up first thing in the morning. We had a lovely blue tile that went around the pool and reflected on the water. Our pool accessories were purchased at this time as well. We got the sand filter, net, ladders, steps, handrail, chemicals and the vacuum. For my next pool I want the tile again and a vacuum that does it's job without my help! lol I love that the new vacuums will do this now.

We were busy working on our yard this past weekend. Getting our garden ready so that we can till it up. As we were deciding how big our garden then we were discussing whether or not we could put a pool in. When my kids were small and we were looking at houses I never dreamed I'd be wanting a pool. While my kids were little I had fears of them going under in a pool so I wouldn't allow the houses we were looking at to have pools. Now that they are all school age I'm ready for a pool and it's something we are looking into. What about your house? Pool or no pool?

I decided to look some things up. So I looked up fancy round ottoman. I'm constantly redoing rooms in my house and I had been wanting one of these. They have a large selection to choose from. Then I did it from a more masculine point of view. I looked up things my dh would be interested in.
What did I find out? I found out that my dh interests are wide and varied! He loves all things outdoors. So I did a search on magma? boat ramp and what did I find? I found out that there are all kinds of products for him to use on our lake that is less than 2 miles from our house. He is constantly out there kayaking, biking, swimming etc.

Then I looked to see if they had rossignol super haul 2 pair wheelie ski snowboard bag 2008 and they did! Ok I'll confess that the only skiing we can do here is water skiing. We actually did get snow yesterday but it was so warm it didn't stick. Last year we had so much snow we could have used ski's for about 2 hours on some mornings before it would melt. It's a bit too warm here for snow skis but I know he would love to have snow skis.

Bright Future International is going to give $1 for every new like their facebook page gets. What a great way to raise money for a very deserving organization. They get money and those of us that don't have a lot of money to spare can still feel like we are helping contribute to a worthy cause. The story that touched my heart was the Kenya story. I have family living in Nairobi right now and they know the trials that goes on in that country. Heshima Kenya told a story of a sweet young girl fleeing Ethiopia with her baby. She moved into a Safe House and now has hope that she will have a good life. By liking their facebook page they are then provided with everything that they need. Such as: food, shelter, education, medical help and clothes for herself and her baby. I don't know of a more deserving cause. Thank you Bright Future International for taking care of those in need. Can't you do a small part by liking their page to get that $1 donated! Nothing annoys me more than finding out about a local business and not being able to find them on the internet. In this day and age there is really no excuse for it. I run straight to the internet to look businesses up. If I had my choice they wouldn't give me a yellow pages ever again! It's so easy to get listed on the internet so that people can find you. When the company puts Google Maps optimization to work then you can also find the company so much easier!

I love when that map pops up to show you where the company is at in your town. I did this in my craigslist ad for an apartment I'm trying to rent. All I did was give a general area where the apartment was listed and google maps immediately popped up to show me (and whoever else is looking at my ad) where the apartment is at. How cool is that! What a great tool to utilize so that your customers can find you. Isn't that what you want?

Here's how to utilize Google Maps optimization.

1. Go to maps.google.com

2. Use the put your business on google maps link on their site.

3. Check out their tutorial if you need too.

To empower your employees with the proper tools do a quick survey to find out what they need. On this survey include things like: what skills do you need to help you do your job better. If possible then offer them classes on these things. What can we as a company do to help you work smarter? Again offer them classes on the things they feel are important. Employee Surveys can serve you well, as the employer, in getting your team working more cohesively. Motivate your employees to want to do a good job and show them you care. Here are some other tips on empowering your employees.

1.Give them the tools they need to dotheir job! How can a person work in phone customer service if they don't have a phone? You wouldn't expect them too. Ask them what it is that they are lacking to do their job and do it well. Then provide it for them.

2. Grant them the power that they needto complete the job. Do not micromanage if you know that you have atrustworthy employee. By trusting them you are also trusting yourself. Be the best boss you can be!

3. Tell them your vision of the job sothat they don't have to guess. If you can, show them exactly what you want them to do! A goodboss lets the employee know exactly what he wants/needs.

4. Build the employees confidence andpraise them with positive tones.

If they know you appreciate what theydo they will work harder for you. I'd rather my employee work harderand smarter then be angry and not get the job done.

Employee Surveys are powerful ways to find the holes in your company and fill them. Do it. You won't regret it.

Our kids are our world aren't they? My children are spoiled. They are spoiled with love not with things. Although in many eyes they have a lot of stuff. They do not get things when we go to the store. They get them for their birthday or they save up their own money for them. Being broke has its benefits. LOL Your kids do not get most of the things that they want and believe it or not that is a good thing. It's called delayed gratification. You want them to learn it now so that they already have it down when they go off on their own!

We do not give our kids an allowance either. Allowance to me means the kids get money for not working. Um, that's not what the real world does. We, most of the time, can not afford to give them an allowance. They save up their money from birthdays and Christmas to get things they want. We do try to give them money as we can. Like if my teenager wants to go to the movies we try to do that. He's 15 now and knows that he is to get a job as soon as he can so that he can pay for his insurance. We are holding off on him getting his learners permit because of the insurance jump we will experience. Once he does he will be required to work for his insurance. We happen to have an extra vehicle (don't be jealous all 3 of our vehicles are 20, 15 and 10 years old.)

Our children are our world and we love them so much. I have high hopes for all three. My teenager is showing writing potential already. He's writing on fanfiction and getting about 150 views a day. That is amazing! I'm a proud mom trying to guide as best I can and hoping God can help him the rest of the way. Isn't that what we do as parents? Guide as best we can and pray for the rest of the time when we aren't always there.

Kids Love Camp!

As a kid I loved going to camp. I remember, to this day, sitting around the campfire making dinner. S'mores were always on the menu too. Staying in either tents or those buildings and being with your friends doing all the activities that are offered is so much fun! I want my teen to have that same adventure and fun in his life. Going to summer camp is simply making memories.

My son is a honor roll student who would love nothing more than to have that camp experience. He is sweet with children and takes pride in babysitting his brother and sister. He has a sweet and giving spirit. I don't think there is a mean bone in his body. He is kind to others and has a funny sense of humor. I am biased as I am his mother and think he is pretty great! He plays violin and is second violin first chair. He's artsy and musical and an amazing boy! He would be an asset to the camp. I would bet that the next year he would even want to go back as a counselor. First a camper and then a counselor, what could be better?

Looking around at the Catalina Island Camps you see all the amazing activities there. They have: sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, target courses, climbing ropes, challenges for each camper, outdoor cooking and even arts and crafts. What a great week or two of fun at this camp.

The mission statement of the Catalina Islands Camp is that they develop "life long skills through fun and unique outdoor experiences in a community that cultivates respect for self, others and the environment." Who wouldn't want their child to go there. It's on a beach outside of LA in a beautiful and serene setting. It's not all serene though with the challenging activities they have for the campers. They go through challenges and team building experiences. They even have goals for their campers. The goals are: they will develop a positive identity, better social skills, and become a contributing team member with an appreciate of nature! I love it and my know my teenage son would love it too. Shocked and saddened by Whitney Houston's death made me remember my one run in with her. My hubby trains in Atlanta once or twice a year for his job. When my dh goes the family used to go too. We would play at the park, go to the mall, swim in the hotel pool and just have a good time together.

On this particular day we went to Red Lobster for dinner it was very early for dinner, around 4 pm. So, we pull in the parking lot and there are very few cars there. One car is parked in such a way that it took up 3 spaces. My dh was complaining about the "idiots parking job"...not realizing it was uh Bobby's Rolls. So, we walk in. It was October and very mild. I was in running shorts, t-shirt and flip flops. As we walk in we pass this vision of a 6 ft tall beautiful lady. We recognized her immediately and kind of giggled to ourselves. She was clad head to toe in fur. Fur, in October, in Atlanta...yeah she didn't stand out at all. But she looked beautiful and very, very tall. I'm short so what do I know.

I hope she finds peace now. She was an amazing singer and will be missed.

I bought pizza crust tonight and made my own pizzas but not the crust. It was such a fast meal. I love meals like that. They normally like pepperoni, veggies, sauce and cheese. However, my pepperoni had gone bad. How old must it have been to have gone bad? shudders at the thought. So, I made it with ham instead. It was pretty darn good.

I like to have pre-made (by me) brownie/cookie mixes in my pantry too. My son pulled one out tonight and has brownies going in the oven right now. I get to control what goes in them that way. He made it with zucchini and applesauce. Zucchini acts like the water and the applesauce acts like the oil. He did add heath toffee bites...what does that say about me? I'm healthy but like to be bad at the same time? I'm not sure what that says. You can't taste the zucchini before everyone goes "Yuck". You really can't even tell it's there. It just disappears. Ummm brownies!

So, Bertolli contacted me and asked me if I wanted to have a soup night with my family. We already eat a lot of soup and love it. So, it was very easy for me to say yes. Off to the store to get my Bertolli frozen soup Tomato Florentine. This was found in the frozen dinner aisle and was easy to spot with the Bertolli logo on it. They had a few choices like Chicken Minestrone, Roasted Chicken & Rotini Pasta, Tomato Florentine & Tortellini with Chicken, and Tuscan-Style Beef with Vegetables.

I chose the tomato florentine and tortellini with Chicken and it was sooo good! These are meals for 2 but when you get creative you can feed more.

I added one cup of water and cooked the soup on the stove for about 8 minutes. It took a total of 22 minutes to make dinner if you include making my grilled cheese sandwich. That's it! Then plated it up and ate it with my family. Seriously, one cup of water is all I added. It made 32 oz of such yummy, delicious soup. My entire family loved it. Paired it with a yummy grilled cheese sandwich and I had a very happy family.

My youngest son commented "it tastes like "insert name of famous restaurant here" soup. He loves to eat at this very reasonable restaurant and loves their soups. So for him to say that it tastes just like it is very high praise. As a mom, it makes me happy to know I can fix a quick meal and make my family happy. I can't wait to try out the other flavors. I most definitely will be purchasing this again for quick meals on crazy get out of the house to dance/karate/ball practice nights. It was so yummy! Thank you Bertolli for making families eat great food at a reasonable price! Bertolli has been making great food for 150 years going all the way back to Italy.

Most people think going back to schoolis only for the rich. I went back, as a mom, and entered graduateschool. I was able to get a scholarship for the program I was goingfor. Wouldn't you want to go back to business school colorado if you knew you couldfind a way for someone else to pay for it? This could be the bestdecision you have made.

Think about the fields that are ofinterest to you. Now google that term and scholarships and see whatyou can find. I was going back to be a teacher of the visuallyimpaired and it was an amazing program. If you are a teacher thenthis would be one way to go. If you can't get a job then this wouldbe a great avenue to explore. The more education you have the moremarketable you are to human resources. Would they hire the personwith only x degree. Or the person with x degree, y degree and zexperience too!

Do yourbest work and they will remember you when it comes time to need a newmember for their team. Don't pay money to find you a job. When I was younger I was fit and slim.As I got older I began to notice a trend to put on some weight. Whatbegan as a trend will now end! Here's how I lose weight and keep itoff!

1. Work out. You must work out to getyourself burning calories. The workout gets you in better shape andcan shape up your body and allow you to fit into those jeans in thecloset.

But it does take lots of time and patience to know that youcan take the weight off and keep it off! I do not fit the requirements for lap band surgery. But it's tempting for me to think about!

1. As of today, cut up your credit cards and do not live on credit at all. No more purchasing things you can not pay cash for. Many times credit cards lead you to open other credit cards and you just keep moving money from card to card. This has to stop for you to be able to prevent bankruptcy.

2. List all your bills from smallest to largest. Every pay period have your bills prioritized and pay them in the order of importance. For instance, you would want to pay house, insurance, groceries, electricity, water, gas for the car. Pay those first. If there's money left over then keep paying minimums on all your credit cards and try to get that smallest one paid off. Then, roll that payment to the next credit card. You eventually get a snowball effect going and the momentum allows you to keep paying off your debts.

3. Go to a cash only existence. Get you some envelopes and put your grocery money, gas, miscellaneous, etc in the envelopes when you run out of money you stop purchasing. It's just that simple.

Bankruptcy is not the end of the road. It's the beginning of a new way of thinking about your money and yourself. Doing without doesn't mean you are lacking. It just means you live in your means and can afford whatever you do or don't do. It's a new way of living. Natural House Review

As a "greenish" kind of person I was thrilled to review the Natural House line. I received their toilet bowl cleaners, sink disposal cleaner and their trash can cleaner and deodorizer. I love that these products are all natural and that they all work! The toilet bowl cleaner you had to drop in, wait less than a minute and then clean. It smelled fresh and looked very clean. It was easy to clean seeing as the probiotics did their job!

The trash can deodorizer smells like wintergreen. It smells so good! Having a family means we make a lot of trash. A LOT. My trash can needs deodorizing daily. I sprayed this in, let it sit and then cleaned it out. Now that it's clean I can just spray it in between trash pick up. It really does smell fresh.

Last used was the Natural House sinky cleaner/deodorizer for the disposal. It had a really nice orange scent. Orange scent is my favorite. Thank goodness they have Directv in Green Bay because my husband is probably the biggest NFL football fan you have ever met. When we first moved here I was really worried he would have a hard time assimilating with all these Packers fans because he's the biggest Giants fan in the world and they notoriously have a beef. The Giants, as you know, are in the Super Bowl this year and thankfully for me that has meant my husband has been in a really great mood. A lot of his friends are Green Bay fans but they've been really good sports about the fact that his team is going to the big game and I think that has really helped ease his opinion about Packers fans in general. We really like it here and the new house is amazing. So you are going to have to find some way to put aside his hatred for other teams and just embrace the football spirit that they have here.

As a person who's always trying to lose 10 lbs I was thrilled to be given the #Cinchspiration program for a month from Shaklee. The first week I did it I lost 2 lbs. That was a great start for me! In my starter kit I had 2 large containers of shake mix (one vanilla and one chocolate) plus a box of mixes to go (latte, strawberry, chocolate and vanilla). I received 3 boxes of meal replacement bars, 2 boxes of snack bars and some energy tea. It also comes with a food diary guide and a success guide.

The shakes when mixed with a banana, ice, milk and some berries were very yummy. I really did enjoy them. I will be having one today for lunch! The bars were really good also. My favorite was the chocolate chip peanut butter meal bar and the lemon cranberry snack bar. So very good! The meal booster that you take 3x per day seemed to help too. At dinner you eat a sensible low fat dinner that you make.

I enjoyed almost everything about this program. I did however miss food. I do not think this is something I would be able to keep up long term. I definitely can do a month but thinking long term, there's no way that I could make it 3 months to get the weight off that I need lose. However it's a great idea and for someone that just needs to lose a little bit of weight this would definitely work for them. Tide for Coldwater Review

I was given a bottle of Tide for coldwater to review. Let me first say that I've never been a brand name purchaser. I only buy what is on sale or something I have a really good coupon for. So, I've not purchased laundry detergent made by Tide in a very long time. What I noticed about this bottle of Tide is that it smells really good. Really good! It makes my nose happy. Yes, it does clean very well even in cold water. I had a shirt with a stain from dinner and it came right out even using the Coldwater Tide.

Would I use it again? Absolutely. I would totally put this laundry detergent to work for me without a doubt. My grandmother was very brand loyal to Tide and I can definitely see why. Tide, thank you for giving me the opportunity to try a product I probably wouldn't have ever tried beforehand. I know now that Tide is a quality product that gets my clothes clean and keeps them smelling fresh. In cold water or warm/hot water Tide is good for your clothes! Thanks Tide.

How to do a body cleanse!

The ancient Egyptians have been doing a body cleanse for thousands of years. It's not a new concept. The reason people do body cleansing is to detoxify their body and rid it of toxins. There are many ways to do this. You can restrict yourself (like a juice cleanse), have a physical cleanse (colon cleanse) or even use herbs and supplements to help your body cleanse itself.

There are a few other ways to detoxify your body and cleanse it.

1. Detox diet. A detox diet is used to rid the body of things that aren't good for it. Getting rid of food items such as flavor enhancers or preservatives. Detox diets should not be done for long periods of time.

2. Heavy metal cleansing is often being done because of fillings in peoples teeth. Prevention is often the key but of course we didn't know that those fillings would hurt us 30 years later.

3. Colon cleanse is done to rid people of their general malaise. The feeling is that there is food stuck somewhere that is causing the problems and cleansing it moves the food along so that you then feel better.

Body cleansing should always be done only after discussing it with your doctor. It's not right for everyone (if you're sick you shouldn't detox for sure without the consent of your doctor) but it's definitely another option to think about to increase your general health.

Truck drivers work in an industry that is known to be one of the most dangerous professions. A lot of that is the fault of the driver of the car. That little car that thinks nothing of pulling out in front of the semi and then slamming on the brakes. A truck loaded down with merchandise is very hard to stop.

You can remember some rules to keep safe on the road.

1. Do not tail too close to the semi truck. They can't see that you're back there if you are too close. Think about what would happen if they had to slam on their brakes.

2. Stay out of their blind spots when driving beside the truck. If you get beside the truck then make sure you move around to get either in front of or behind them.

3. Do not pull in front of the truck if you see or suspect that you are going to have to slam on your brakes.

4. Give them plenty of room. Room to speed up and room to brake.

Here are the Truck Driver jobs:

1. Reign in your emotions and keep the anger to a minimum. Remember that other drivers are not as aware as you are.

2. Watch for aggressive driving in others and be the bigger person. Do not give in to their aggression. You have a job to do, just focus on that job.

3. Give yourself plenty of space between all vehicles.

4. Keep your truck to the speed limit.

Following these tips can bring all drivers home safely. Let's focus on getting home and letting the truck drivers do their job!

My dog is possessive of me.

He's been growling and nipping at people lately. He's been making lovely accidents once or twice in the house. He's been in time out a lot! So, John sat beside me on the couch and he couldn't get to me. He sat in the floor and growled at him. It was funny at first. But then we realized he has to stop this. We have 3 kids and another dog. So, what do you do when your dog is possessive of you or his toys. This is what I've learned.

1. Require him to work for everything. You want to pet him, make him sit. He wants to eat, put his food in his bowl, take his bowl away and make him sit before he eats. This serves as a reminder that you are the boss.

2. Practice giving him things and then taking them away. I gave him his bone and then took it away many times today. It shows him, his toys will come back and there's no need to freak out when someone takes it from him. I also made him sit before I'd give it to him.

3. When he would sit or not growl I would praise him and give him a treat...sometimes.

Possessive dogs are not cute. They are not to be petted on the head and rewarded for this behavior. Make sure you remind them often that they are not in charge. If you have to make situations happen so that you can recreate the possessiveness and teach him another way, you should do it. Teaching them that they are not the owner is the best thing you can do for them. Let them know they are loved but they will work for what they get. I love my dog but I will not allow him to be possessive and make my kids or others scared of him.

1. Get referrals from friends and family. It's always good if you know someone who has personally used that lawyer. They will know: did they do a good job, know what they were talking about, doing, and were they professional etc. Ask your business associates if they have used a lawyer that they were particularly happy with, you want to know someone who has been satisfied with their body of work.

2. Interview more than one lawyer. Use the interview process to find the attorney that is right for you. Does personality count? Yes, but it shouldn't be all you look at. Ask questions: Have you dealt with this type of case before? What did you do then? What was the resolution?

3. Check their reviews online. You can simply Google their name and see if their previous clients have been satisfied with their hard work.

Cleaning my floors is not my favorite thing!

But it has to be done. It needs to be done right now in my house as I sit here typing. I decided I needed to find new ways to clean my laminate floor and looked up a search for floor cleaning news.

I do all the normal stuff. I tried various vacuums for my laminate floors. My favorite is my cordless vacuum that is very lightweight and rechargeable. Sometimes with 2 dogs I have a lot of hair that sheds and ends up on my floor. There are times when my lightweight vacuum will not pick it all up. Should I look into industrial vacuums? Probably not, but it doesn't hurt to look, does it?

Once I have swept, either with my floor mop or my vacuum, I then need to mop. The downside to having laminate floors is that I have to mop them. However, I used to hate vacuuming and now don't mind it so much. The fact that I have so much less dirt on my filters makes me think that my decision to put in laminate floors and rip out the carpet was a good one. My family has a lot of allergies and the fact that I vacuum every day has helped our allergies so much. They've almost disappeared.

How to write your resume to get hired!

When I first wrote my resume, on a typewriter so many years ago, I did use resume templates and lots of flowery words. There are so many places to get help online for free when you are preparing your resume. Make sure you take advantage of each one. They want you to get a job so that you can then tell others how that site helped you! What do new job searchers need to do?

1. Highlight your volunteering. If you don't volunteer then begin now so it can go on your resume. If you volunteer teaching children at church and love it then let them know. Employers want to know that they are hiring someone who cares for others and volunteering shows them that.

2. Show off your skills. If you are great at putting together pieces and parts to make your car run, etc. Make sure you highlight that. Employers want to know that you have skills other than what you are hired to do. It makes you valuable if they know they can count on you to do other things.

3. Highlight your education. If you have a great college degree you obtained by going to school at night and keeping kids at your home during the day, let them know. That takes some serious time management skills. You have successfully worked full time and obtained a degree and that is amazing.

4. Let them know your hobbies. In this recession it is important for the employers to know everything you can do. It may be that one thing that makes you the stand out above all others. Say you can fix lawn mowers, or mow yards or even landscape yards. The employer may need that done and can get two for one when they hire you.

These seem like simple things to do. But they are invaluable to a prospective employer. Highlight everything that you do and do well. You will get that job!

Why big commercial trucks are not out to squish you...

It so feels like it when you are riding between two trucks, doesn't it? It totally makes me feel all claustrophic. Here's the reasons why commercial trucks are not out to get you!

1. Commercial truck drivers are doing a job. They are just as ready as everyone else to clock out and go home. An accident with you is not on their agenda nor do they want one.

2. If they get in an accident with you there is a possibility that they could lose their job. This is how they make their money and losing their job would mean no paycheck. That is not good for their family.

3. Truck drivers are hyper aware. They have more at stake then you do. They want to safely do their job and go home. If you are following a truck too close you need to let off the gas and back up. They can't see you! Be aware of their blind spots too. Truck drivers are aware of these issues and are better drivers because of it.

Let's remember that the road belongs to everyone and we can all safely share it. Truck drivers are pros at their job.

Have you ordered your steaks online before?

You may be surprised at how you can get a better quality cut of meat online as cheap as in the big box store. Buying your steaks online also allows you to purchase from a farmer who cares. These farmers make sure to take the time to feed the animals a vegetarian diet like they would get in the wild. They use no hormones or antibiotics. Their identity for themselves and their farms are sustainable, earth friendly farms that care and it shows.

If you do not have the time to do your research about where your beef is coming from you can always check out the farms on the internet. Buying your meat online doesn't mean a faceless farmer that you do not know. It gives you a chance to get to know that family and finding out their core values and beliefs and making sure they line up with your own. This country needs to get back to basics and sustainable farming is one way to do that.

I love that this family farm practices crop rotation to prevent soil erosion. They also take advantage of the crop that is in season and uses those seasonal grasses to feed the animals their vegetarian diet. They raise less animals and are able to take very good care of the ones that they do have. Taking advantage of wind energy to keep some part of their ranch going just makes them look better to me. I'm so very impressed with this family farm.

However, now that I'm older I know that teaching is something I'm good at but it's not what I want to do. My dream, since I have had children, is to work at home. Mosiac tile makes a beautiful pool...

When we put in our pool we had beautiful mosaic tile installed with it. It gave the pool a beautiful blue appearance. I loved it and not just because it was my senior year in high school and I had the world by a string. The tile was the best addition to our family pool.

Since I've been in my current home for 12 years, it's about time for me to start thinking about doing some remodeling. The first thing I'd like to do is put in some mosaic glass tiles in the kitchen as a backsplash. My kitchen is a pretty olive green. This is the one I would like as my kitchen backsplash.

I would love to do a backsplash in my bathroom as well. They have so many choices of tile. It's amazing. You can do the floor and the walls in the bathroom just like they did in the 70's. Uh, no thanks. :) The new tile is so much prettier then it used to be. If you're thinking of tiling your kitchen, bath or pool be sure to check them out. Mel sighed. She couldn’t remember a time since they’d been teenagers when she hadn’twanted to be Sean’s girl. Yet they never seemed to get beyond a few heated kisses before hehightailed it in the opposite direction. Sometimes it was hard to tell if he really wanted to kiss her or if he was just being polite.“Maybe I’ll see you tomorrow, then?” As always she felt a little anxious about his answer, though she usually tried to cover her anxiety with an attitude of nonchalance.

He smiled and gave her a peck on the cheek with one last warm hug. Then he rubbed theback of his neck and cast a sheepish glance her way. “Hope so.”

She breathed more easily when she caught his “yes” tell. He always seemed just a littleon the shy side when he said yes to something that was important to him.Sean waited for her to cross the parking lot again before he left. He probably didn’t knowshe routinely stood at the door and watched his taillights disappear.

Lemon Laws are here to protect us!

If you've not bought a lemon I'm sure you know someone who has. Growing up in the 70's we bought a lemon of a car. There were no lemon laws back then to protect us. Once sold a lemon you had to have it fixed or just deal with it or resell it to someone else. I think we wrecked it and that was the end of that lemon.

There are times when you buy a lemon that things come up you are not prepared for. Such as a sickness, being laid off, etc and then you are not able to pay the note on that lemon. Stop collection harrassment for good by knowing your rights. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act prohibits debtors from being harassed because they aren't able to pay a debt.

If you feel you are being harassed unfairly by a debtor there are things you can do to get them to stop. Stop collection harassment California has lawyers that will meet with you for no consultation fee. It's free to meet with them and see if what's going on with your debt or with the lemon you were sold falls under the lemon law or fair collection practices. Don't let them take advantage of your good nature. There are lawyers who will fight for what is right. Let them!

I was watching the “Today Show” this morning on my direct tv arkansas and there was a male chef ( for the life of me I can’t remember his name), but he was showing Al Roker how to prepare a Boston butt. I usually love all of the recipes that they show in the mornings. Every time I cook one it turns out great. Today was a doubly great show because they had Martha Stewart in the first hour and the other chef in the second hour. Anyway, the chef was describing a rub for the piece of meat and how it should be prepared. I know that when you are on the “Today Show” that you have to get up super early, so I imagine that the chef’s slip up when he asked Al to, “rub his butt” was due to having to get up at four in the morning. Anyway, everyone in the studio started dying laughing. It was hilarious! The thing that made it so funny is that it was actually an honest mistake. It was something that appeared scripted or put in there for a laugh. I definitely got a good chuckle out of it this morning!

I had the opportunity to check out Mr. Chewy pet supply store and make a purchase. Mr. Chewy's byline is delivering pet happiness. I can say that he does! I saw so many things I wanted to purchase. Pet treats, cat litter, food, flea treatment are all in one nicely stocked store. I have to admit I was impressed with their website information and their prices. There are good descriptions of their items and lots of items to choose from for a dog or a cat. I have both a cat and 2 dogs that we love on. It would be nice to have that heavy dog food show up on my porch monthly!

I bought a much needed item for my baby, Snowball. Here he is in his jacket chilling on my couch. I bought him Frontline. It's for him and his brother, a big chocolate lab named Snickers. They are going to be flea and tick free for all seasons. Snowball gets lots of baths. But because he's so low to the ground he is always the one that a flea jumps on. It's so frustrating.

Tweet! I know, you think it's crazy. There are millions ofpeople on twitter. If you're not using them then you are missing out on that advertisingrevenue. It's so simple to set up a twitter account and schedule some tweetsthroughout the day so that you are target marketing your audience. Do It!

Put bloggers to work! If you have friends who blog you cangive them $20 and they can blog about you. Most bloggers I know have a reach ofabout 344000 people. How long would it take you to reach that many people?Bloggers are a very under utilized market that are just waiting to be put towork. Use them and you are on the cutting edge of marketing.

When you work in human resources you are constantly trying to improve employee engagement. Here are some great ways to improve employee engagement and increase their moral!

1. Say please, thank you and my pleasure. It's the littlethings that can boost moral. If you are asked to do something and you'reresponse is "My Pleasure" you are going to be remembered by thehigher ups. It starts with the bosses saying it first. Be enthusiastic and usemanners...it's catching.

2. Focus on making your employee happy! If you have happyemployees you have motivated employees. The happy employees want to go to workand love it when they do. The stodgy offices of yesteryear are gone. Let's makework fun and get things done! Music, a gym, bring your dog to work day are allexamples of ways you can be making them happy.

3. Profit Sharing is a powerful motivational tool. When theemployees have a stake in the company they are more likely to do their best.After all, it's their company!

4. Do fun volunteer work together. If you have downtime tryto find volunteer work in the field you are in for the employees to dotogether. They feel better about themselves and love that they are helpingothers as well. What a great team building experience.

5. Give your employees a 15 minute huddle in the morning.Gather around the water cooler and talk about the day you had yesterday.Employees love it if they feel that you care what happens to them.
